National Sales Manager – Retail

OVERVIEW
The National Sales Manager – Retail lead our efforts in the Retail market. This dynamic and results-driven individual will focus on managing and growing our portfolio of small to mid-sized brick-and-mortar retail accounts, developing new retail partnerships, and providing account management support for an IT solutions provider. The ideal candidate is outgoing, personable, and high-energy, with a proven ability to build relationships, solve problems, and deliver results.

This position reports to the Director of Sales and will interact on a regular basis with sales, administration, customer service, and management staff. This position works cooperatively with others.

RESPONSIBILITIES

    Account Management:

  • Build strong, lasting relationships with existing retail accounts to drive account growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor account performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes as needed.
  • Provide timely and accurate forecasting to guide business decisions.
  • New Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue prospective retail accounts.
  • Collaborate with leadership to approach and onboard new customers.
  • Collaboration & Internal Coordination:

  • Work effectively across departments, including Fulfillment, Product Management, Operations, and Accounting.
  • Ensure seamless execution of customer orders and promotions plan.
  • Customer Engagement:

  • Present to customers using strong PowerPoint and public speaking skills.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone and email.
  • Promotional Planning & Execution:

  • Develop and manage approved promotional plans to meet sales objectives.
  • Market Awareness:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
  • Represent the company trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
  • Attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ sales experience.
  • Proven track record in sales or account management, preferably in the Retail market.
  • Strong presentation skills, both in PowerPoint creation and customer-facing meetings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowePoint; experience with CRM software (Dynamics preferred).
  • Self-starter with the ability to act autonomously within clearly defined guidelines.
  • High level of personal integrity, responsibility, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers which includes coworkers, managers, customers, regulatory agencies and vendors.
  • Professional written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills that produce desired results.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting information, such as reports, general correspondence and policy guidelines, with the ability to share with others as needed.
  • Ability to use a computer and standard business and other work-related software with minimal instruction.
  • Excellent active listening, decision-making, team building and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work and prioritize independently with the capacity to collaborate with others.
  • Excellent time and organizational abilities with the ability to seek assistance in a professional manner.

  • Proficient in D365 Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • While performing these duties the person is regularly required to walk, stand, bend, climb stairs, kneel, or crouch and successfully demonstrate the ability to write or use a computer or other electronic devices and operate a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Employees in this position may need to regularly lift at least 15 lbs. and up to 75 pounds occasionally and may need to exert themselves while performing the above-mentioned duties.
  • Perform a variety of physical labor including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching and standing for long periods of time. Also includes being able to lift boxes, tools, equipment and materials.
  • Ability to drive a car and travel to worksites. Employee will be reimbursed mileage according to corporate reimbursement schedule if using a personal vehicle.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range of the role may differ based on the location of the role. Pay Range: $76,000.00-$80,000.00.
