Your Cool

Keep server rooms and data centers cool and operating comfortably with Cooling Solutions from CyberPower.

There are 5 standard methods for cooling a server room or data center environment. Depending on application, these solutions may be available as portable units, rack-mountable, or row-style solutions:

Air Cooling

Recognized as the most traditional method, Air Cooling utilizes fans, vents, and air conditioning to circulate air in the room, which expels the hot air produced by the servers and computing equipment. Air Cooling is commonly used in low-density data centers of all sizes, but its effectiveness can be limited to data centers with a power usage range of approximately 20 - 30 kW.

Liquid Cooling

Liquid Cooling systems absorb excess heat in a data center by circulating coolants through a pipe network within the IT environment. This is especially effective for cooling high-density servers as the pipes can quickly draw heat away from the servers.

Immersion Cooling

Immersion Cooling is a method that directly submerges or immerses IT components in fluids that cool by absorbing heat. This method is most commonly used in high-density data centers.

Evaporative Cooling

The Evaporative Cooling method utilizes fans to brins outside air in, cooling it through water evaporation, before deploying it to cool the IT equipment inside the data center.

Free Cooling

Free air cooling leverages favorable outdoor conditions to reduce reliance on traditional mechanical cooling systems. By utilizing naturally cooler outside air or water, free cooling solutions lower energy consumption through proven methods such as economizers, indirect air systems, thermal wheels, and plate heat exchangers.

Hybrid Cooling

A hybrid cooling approach integrates multiple cooling technologies to optimize thermal management based on specific IT equipment demands. This blended strategy not only enhances energy efficiency and targeted cooling but also provides operational flexibility.
