Section 508

Cyber Power Systems (USA), Inc. understands our government customers must act in accordance to Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Action of 1973 (Section 508). CyberPower is committed to developing new and innovative products that provide accessibility for all customers.

CyberPower Hardware Products

CyberPower deems that the hardware products it manufactures are exempt from Section 508 because they are products “located in spaces frequented only by service personnel for maintenance, repair, or occasional monitoring…” and the status indicators and operable parts are thereby exempt (Federal Acquisition Regulation 39.204(d) and 36 Code of Federal Regulations 1194.3(f)).

CyberPower Software Products

CyberPower currently offers software products which may be subject to Section 508. CyberPower is in the process of determining if its software is in conformance with or exempt from Section 508. CyberPower PowerPanel Software editions are designed to monitor and manage CyberPower hardware products and are based on industry-standard operating systems. As a result of being built on industry standard operating systems, this software is likely compliant with Section 508 by use of various assistive technology, like a screen reader. This software may also be covered by the hardware provisions of Appendix C to Part 1194, Section 402 and 409, as display and status indicator information, and otherwise exempt under Federal Acquisition Regulation 39.204(d) and 36 Code of Federal Regulations 1194.3(f)).
