Surge - Frequently Asked Questions
How do I connect equipment to a Tamper Resistant (TR) Wall Tap?

Our surge protected wall taps have been designed with safety in mind. They include Tamper Resistant (TR) outlets with internal shutters that block foreign objects from entering the open spaces to prevent accidental electrical shock from occurring.  Here are some tips for connecting equipment:

If my surge protector has a ground light, should it be illuminated (green)?

Yes. The ground indicator light should be illuminated. If the light is not illuminated, there is a problem with the AC outlet into which the CyberPower surge suppressor is plugged. If this is the case, please disconnect the surge suppressor until the problem is resolved. The problem must be resolved before the CyberPower surge suppressor can be used.

If my surge protector has a surge light, should it be illuminated?

Yes. The surge light should be illuminated. This indicates that the CyberPower surge suppressor is functioning properly. If the light is not illuminated, it indicates that the surge protector has received a catastrophic surge and will need to be replaced. CyberPower will replace the surge suppressor free of charge, provided the warranty terms and conditions are met.
