An isolation transformer removes the physical path that current can flow on between two systems while still allowing them to exchange power. This enhances UPS performance and safety by suppressing electrical line noise and lowering the potential current on the UPS’s metal chassis.
The polarity (positive or negative) will typically be identified in the device’s user manual and/or on the device itself. If the device does not have a polarity specification, contact the manufacturer of the device and ask for the information.
